Bosphorus dinner cruise with a private table: what you get and who can book it

On a Bosphorus dinner cruise the default seat is a shared table. A private table costs little or nothing extra online, but it is for parties of two or more; window tables are sometimes sold only to couples.

A Bosphorus dinner cruise with a private table means your party gets its own table instead of a place at a long shared one. On the big dinner boats that is a real difference: you eat and talk without strangers, and you choose when to get up and watch the show. The good news is that private tables are cheap. Several of the most-reviewed listings include one in the base price. The catch is in the small print: who qualifies, and whether "window" really means a window.

This page covers seating only. For the boats, the piers, the menu and the show, start with our dinner cruise guide.

What "private table" means on a dinner boat

The dinner boats sell seats in tiers, and the cheapest price on any listing is normally the bottom one. From the bottom up:

Tier What you get Typical cost
Shared (standard) table A place at a long table with other guests the base price
Private table Your party alone at its own table often included; Turyol +$10 direct
Close to the show / VIP front rows Tables next to the dance floor one agency group: €40–75 by drinks option
Window table A private table on the window side listing option; some for couples only
Romantic or birthday table Decorated table, sometimes with transfer one agency group: €75 romantic, €120 birthday

The figures in the right-hand column come from operators' own price lists. One agency group publishes the full ladder, from a shared table at €30 to a premium VIP menu with a private car at €200. If a listing says nothing about the table, assume it is shared. Even New Year's Eve cruises sell a "standard sharing table" as their base tier.

The rules that catch people out

Solo travelers do not get a private table. Headout's top dinner listing (31582) says it plainly: private tables are only for group reservations, and a single-person booking is seated with other guests. Treat any "private table" listing the same way if you travel alone.

Window tables can be couples-only. On Headout 39794, window-side private tables are reserved for bookings of exactly two guests; larger groups sit at shared tables of four or six. A family of four that books "window table" may end up away from the glass. Ask before you pay.

"Private" in the title is not the same as "private" in your option. GetYourGuide's Dentur listing (419108) sells the window-side table and the front-of-stage table as separate options, or both together. The headline price is for the cheapest option. Check that the option you select names the table.

A private table is not a private boat. You still share the saloon with everyone else on board, and Turyol's Bosfor, for example, is licensed for 601 passengers. For a boat of your own, see private yacht charters, priced per boat rather than per person.

Best private-table dinner cruises

1

Most couples and families

Private table in the base ticket, 4.8 from over 75,000 reviews: the most-reviewed Istanbul product on GetYourGuide. Mega Lüfer boats from the Kadoil landing at Kabataş, sailing at 20:45. Soft drinks included, alcohol extra.

2

Two or more, cheapest today

Headout's highest-rated dinner listing (4.9 from over 4,000 reviews). Private table for groups only, and vegetarian, pescatarian and halal menus on request.

3

A window seat on a budget

The cheapest window-table listing on GetYourGuide, 4.5 from 650+ reviews, listed as leaving from the Old City port.

4

Choosing your spot

Dentur's own listing, according to GetYourGuide, with separate window-side and front-of-stage options. Boards at Dentur's tour pier in Kabataş.

Two more worth knowing: Headout 20906 (4.7 from 2,700+ reviews) has a 4-course menu with a private table and is the one dinner listing Headout marks as wheelchair, pram and stroller accessible. GetYourGuide 236602 and 643575 run 3.5 hours with a private table, from about $45. On Tiqets, Travelpedia's 1066854 sails at 21:00 from Kabataş on a boat described as a catamaran, with a private table and drinks or pick-up by option.

Private table price: GetYourGuide vs Headout vs Tiqets

The private-table dinner sells on all three platforms, through different sellers. On the day this page was updated, Headout was the cheapest, GetYourGuide a few dollars more, and Tiqets the dearest. Boat, start time and inclusions differ, so compare the options, not just the headline:

Price check The dinner cruise with a private table on more than one platform Difference: $8

Headout Bosphorus Dinner Cruise with Turkish Show & Private Table · 3 h 4.9 (4,065) $30 Lowest See on Headout
GetYourGuide Istanbul: Bosphorus Dinner Cruise & Show with Private Table · 3 h 4.8 (75,584) $31 See on GetYourGuide
Tiqets Istanbul: Bosphorus Dinner Cruise with Turkish Dance Shows + Private Table · 3 h 4.0 (22) $38 See on Tiqets

Lowest adult price per person in US dollars, checked on October 17, 2026. Boat, departure time and what is included differ between listings: open each one before you pay.

Cancellation is the second thing to compare. GetYourGuide listings mostly cancel free up to 24 hours before and let you reserve now and pay later. Headout's dinner cruises are typically free to 24 hours. Tiqets 1066854 is also free to 24 hours, but some other Tiqets dinner listings cannot be refunded. Avoid the Headout combos that bundle a dinner cruise with Galata Tower or Dolmabahçe Palace tickets: they cannot be cancelled. Our platform comparison has the details.

Booking direct: Turyol's upstairs private table

The one operator that prices the private table openly is Turyol, the co-operative that runs the Bosfor dinner ship from Karaköy. On bosfordinnercruise.com a ticket costs $50 without alcohol or $80 with unlimited local drinks. A private table on the second floor is $10 more, and the booking form lists "Standart Private" and "Extra Private" classes. Turyol advertises free transfer with direct tickets.

The drawback is the refund policy. Direct Turyol tickets cannot be cancelled or refunded; you get one date change, up to 48 hours before departure. The GetYourGuide listing tied to the Bosfor (438511) starts lower and comes with free cancellation up to 24 hours. Check that its option includes a private table: its base price does not promise one. More about the operator in our Turyol review.

Is a private or window table worth it?

Pros

  • Often no extra cost on the big platform listings
  • No small talk with strangers through a three-hour dinner
  • Window tables give you the lit shore instead of the back of the room
  • Front tables put you next to the dancers

Cons

  • Not available to solo travelers on most listings
  • Window tables may be couples-only
  • Still a big, busy saloon, not a private dinner
  • Front tables are inside the audience-participation segment

Our verdict: for two people, book a private table every time; on GetYourGuide 415437 and Headout 31582 it is already in the price. Pay extra for a window only if you are exactly two and the listing confirms it. Groups of four or more should ask whether they will get one table or two. If you travel alone, a private-table listing buys you nothing. Book the cheapest well-reviewed option and enjoy the company.
