Hagia Sophia, Topkapı and Old City tickets with a Bosphorus cruise
An Old City sight plus a Bosphorus cruise on one ticket is convenient, but the boat is almost always the same 75–90-minute sightseeing loop you could buy at the pier. Check three things before paying: whether the entry fee is really included, whether the combo can be cancelled, and which day of the week you go.

A Hagia Sophia and Bosphorus cruise combo, or the same idea with Topkapı Palace, the Basilica Cistern, Galata Tower or the Blue Mosque, pairs one Old City sight with a boat ticket. The sights are a short tram ride from the piers, so the pairing makes sense. The catch is in the small print: some combos do not include the actual entry fee, several cannot be cancelled, and the boat is usually the same public-style sightseeing loop that sells at the pier for a few hundred lira.
Old City + Bosphorus cruise combos: what you are really buying
Every combo on this page has two halves:
- A sight. This is a pre-bought ticket, a guided visit, or sometimes just a guided walk outside. A pre-bought ticket skips the ticket-desk queue. It does not skip security, and at Topkapı the palace's own rules give reservations no priority at the desk.
- A boat. This is usually a seat on a 75–90-minute sightseeing loop with an audio guide on your phone. "Audio guide" here means your phone and your own headphones, so bring a pair.
The value is convenience: one voucher, one payment in dollars or euros, no booth queues. The cost is flexibility, because many Headout combos in Istanbul cannot be cancelled or rescheduled. Galata Tower + cruise, Galata Tower + dinner cruise, and both Basilica Cistern + cruise combos are in that group. When you see a high review count on those, it is still a non-refundable ticket.

Which boat is in the combo
Most Headout ticket + cruise combos board at a pier their vouchers call "DENTUR Istanbul Welcome Card Kabataş Pier". That is the Dentur Avrasya Bosphorus tour from Kabataş: a non-stop loop up the European shore, turning at the Fatih Sultan Mehmet (second) Bridge and coming back along the Asian shore. The official length is about 75 minutes; the combos sell it as 90. Bought directly at the Dentur booth it costs 250 TL, or 200 TL online (denturavrasya.com).
City passes work the same way. The Istanbul Tourist Pass (€149–299) uses one round trip on the Dentur boat from Kabataş; the Istanbul E-pass (€125–245) uses the Turyol hourly boat from Eminönü, which also turns at the second bridge. Neither is a yacht.
A few products use something else: the Topkapı tour on GetYourGuide adds a Golden Horn leg, and Headout's "Istanbul in a Day" ends with a 2.5-hour sunset cruise on a glass-enclosed yacht. If the boat matters to you, compare the options in our sightseeing cruise guide, and for a dedicated small yacht see the sunset cruise guide.
Getting from the Old City to the boat is easy: the T1 tram runs from the historic peninsula to Eminönü, Karaköy and its terminus at Kabataş. The Kabataş pier guide shows where the Dentur terminal sits in the row of landings.
Hagia Sophia + cruise: price and the €25 question
Hagia Sophia is an active mosque. Foreign visitors coming to sightsee pay €25 and follow a separate route on the upper gallery; people coming to pray enter the ground floor free. The ticket booth is by the Fountain of Ahmed III, there is a QR audio guide in 23 languages, and headscarves are sold at the booth. Women cover their hair, and everyone covers shoulders and knees. Visits pause around prayer times.
Two traps:
- No pass covers Hagia Sophia. Not the Ministry's Museum Pass İstanbul, and not any commercial pass's "free entry" unless the gallery ticket is explicitly listed.
- The "Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum" is a different building on At Meydanı, also €25, open daily 09:00–20:00. Some "Hagia Sophia ticket" listings sell that museum or a guided walk outside, not the gallery.

Tiqets is cheapest today for a Hagia Sophia + cruise product (from $47), but that listing has no reviews yet and cannot be cancelled. The GetYourGuide combo (from $57, rated 4.5 from 35 reviews) adds the Basilica Cistern. The Headout product is a cruise plus a choice of Topkapı or Hagia Sophia. At these prices, read the inclusions line for "Hagia Sophia entry" or "gallery ticket" before you pay; a guided tour without the €25 ticket is a different product.
Topkapı Palace + cruise: the Harem is already included
Topkapı is now run by National Palaces (Milli Saraylar), the same body as Dolmabahçe. The foreign-visitor ticket is 2,750 TL and covers the palace, the Harem and Hagia Irene; there is no cheaper palace-only ticket. It is closed on Tuesdays, the ticket office is open 09:00–17:00, and tickets are valid only on the day of purchase. In the Holy Relics rooms (Has Oda), dress for a sacred space or you will be turned away from that section.
Museum Pass İstanbul is valid for the palace itself, but the palace rules exclude the Harem and Hagia Irene, so a pass holder pays 1,050 TL extra for the Harem. Prices are on the official Topkapı page.

Headout is cheaper today (from $88) for a Topkapı + Harem ticket with a cruise, rated 4.5 from 20 reviews and refundable. The GetYourGuide product (from $89) is a guided Topkapı and Harem tour plus a Bosphorus and Golden Horn cruise; it has far more reviews (380) but a weaker 3.9 rating. For a guided visit, GetYourGuide; for tickets and freedom, Headout's Topkapı + Harem + cruise, our pick on this page. Avoid booking any Topkapı combo for a Tuesday.
Basilica Cistern, Galata Tower and Blue Mosque combos
Basilica Cistern. Management of the cistern passed from the municipality (İBB) to the General Directorate of Foundations (VGM), which took over on 2 June 2026 and reopened it on 6 June; a court stay of the transfer was later reported. Who runs it now and what foreigners pay is not settled publicly. The last İBB price was 1,950 TL by day and 3,000 TL for the night session, so check the current price at the gate. Headout's two Cistern + cruise combos (with 90-min cruise, with 2-hour cruise) are the review leaders here (4.4 from about 3,500 and 5,600 reviews), but neither can be cancelled. Given the uncertainty at the gate, that is a real risk.
Galata Tower. A Ministry museum: €30, open 08:30–18:30 (last ticket 18:14), plus a night museum session 18:30–22:00. There is no restaurant or show in the tower any more. Headout sells it with a 90-min cruise (from $53, 4.2) or with a dinner cruise (from $68, 4.6); both are non-refundable. The tower is in Museum Pass İstanbul (day hours only), so a pass holder only needs the boat. See our dinner cruise guide if the evening half is what you care about.
Blue Mosque. Entry is free. Visits are between prayers, with modest dress, hair covered for women and shoes off. A "Blue Mosque + cruise" combo is really a guide plus a boat ticket: Headout's guided tour with cruise from $28 (4.1 from 66 reviews) or Tiqets' version from $17 (3.5 from 4).

Official prices checked on October 16, 2026.
Museum Pass İstanbul (€105, 5 days from first entry) is the Ministry of Culture's pass. It covers Topkapı (not the Harem or Hagia Irene), Galata Tower, the Maiden's Tower, Rumeli Hisarı, the Archaeological Museums, the Museum of Turkish and Islamic Arts and a few more. It does not cover Hagia Sophia, the Basilica Cistern, Dolmabahçe or any boat. Galata (€30) + Maiden's Tower (€27) + Rumeli Hisarı (€6) + Turkish and Islamic Arts (€17) + Archaeological Museums (€15) already make €95 before you add Topkapı, so the pass pays off quickly if Topkapı, Galata and the Maiden's Tower are on your list. Details are on muze.gov.tr.
Watch the names. Headout's "Istanbul Museum Pass, Top 3 Attractions + Bosphorus Cruise + eSIM" is a commercial product, not the Ministry pass. Its cruise boards at 12:00 or 15:30 only. Headout's "Istanbul Icons" bundle has guided entries but no cruise at all. GetYourGuide's Top 4 attractions pass (from $145, 4.2 from 97 reviews) includes the Basilica Cistern; given the change of management, confirm how the Cistern entry is redeemed now.

The two "full day with lunch" listings are not the same product: the GetYourGuide day is a budget group tour, the Headout one is a longer day with a sunset yacht and no museum fees included. Cheap "in a day" tours often leave the entry fees out, so the real cost is the listed price plus the gate prices above. Some group day tours also include a showroom stop; ask before booking. More options are in our full-day tours guide and the tours overview.
Planning the day: closures, dress code, timing
The calendar decides more than the combo does:
- Tuesday: Topkapı closed.
- Monday: Dolmabahçe, Beylerbeyi and Rumeli Hisarı closed (see the Dolmabahçe + cruise guide).
- Sunday: the Grand Bazaar is closed, so a full-day tour that "visits the Grand Bazaar" on a Sunday cannot.
- Prayer times: mosque visits pause, so leave some slack in the schedule.

FAQ
Is Hagia Sophia included in the Museum Pass Istanbul?
No. The Hagia Sophia upper-gallery visit costs €25 for foreign visitors and is not in any Museum Pass. The separate "Hagia Sophia History and Experience Museum" is also €25 and not in the pass either.
Do I need a separate Harem ticket at Topkapı Palace?
Not with a normal ticket: the 2,750 TL foreign ticket includes the Harem and Hagia Irene. Only Museum Pass holders pay 1,050 TL extra for the Harem.
Which day is Topkapı Palace closed?
Tuesday. Tickets are valid only on the day you buy them.
Can I cancel a Basilica Cistern and Bosphorus cruise combo?
Headout's two Cistern + cruise combos cannot be cancelled or rescheduled, nor can its two Galata Tower combos. GetYourGuide and Tiqets set cancellation per listing; check before paying.
What boat is used in the Hagia Sophia or Topkapı combo cruise?
Usually the Dentur Avrasya sightseeing loop from Kabataş, about 75–90 minutes to the second bridge and back with an audio guide. Some products use another boat; the voucher names the pier.
How much is the Basilica Cistern ticket now?
It is unconfirmed. Management changed in June 2026 and a court stay was later reported. The last municipal price was 1,950 TL by day, so check the current price at the gate.
Is the Blue Mosque free?
Yes. Combos with the Blue Mosque charge for the guide and the boat, not for entry.
