Orient Bosphorus dinner cruise review: Karaköy, €50–120, sold direct

Orient Bosphorus is a reasonable choice if you want a dinner cruise from Karaköy with a clear price and a family-friendly soft-drink option, but you give up the cancellation safety and the review base of the platform listings. For most visitors a well-reviewed platform dinner from the same pier or from Kabataş is the safer booking.

Who Orient Bosphorus is

Orient Bosphorus trades online as "Orient Bosphorus", with the alternative name "Orient House Bosphorus". Its contact address and office in Sultanahmet tie it to the Orient House Turkish-night brand, so it is best understood as that brand's cruise arm rather than a ship owner. The site lists Turkish, English, Arabic and Russian.

The website looks new: on 16 October some untranslated template keys were still visible on the page. Expect the details to change, and check the live site at orientbosphorus.com before you book. We found no listing under its name on GetYourGuide, Headout or Tiqets.

The boat and the pier

All Orient Bosphorus dinner cruises leave from Karaköy Pier in Beyoğlu, according to its own FAQ. It does not leave from Kabataş. The boat is not named and its capacity is not published.

Karaköy is on the T1 tram (Karaköy stop) and close to the F2 Tünel funicular up to Beyoğlu. Several dinner and dining boats share this waterfront: Turyol's Bosfor dinner ship boards at the Turyol pier on Rıhtım Caddesi on the Golden Horn side of the bridge's Karaköy end, and Le Vapeur Magique also leaves "Karaköy pier". The cruise lasts about 3 hours (180 minutes). Orient Bosphorus does not publish a turning point; dinner boats on the strait cruise the lower Bosphorus between the Old City and the bridges while dinner is served.

The site does not set out the show programme or the menu in detail. Most Bosphorus dinner cruises follow the same pattern of folk dances, a whirling dervish stage act, belly dance and a DJ, but ask Orient Bosphorus what its evening includes rather than assuming. Orient Bosphorus prices in euros per person and sells only direct. Here is how the step for alcohol compares with other operators' direct prices:

On the platforms, the leading dinner cruises start lower: the listing attributed to Turyol from about $29 and the Mega Lüfer cruise from about $31, with free cancellation up to 24 hours on most GetYourGuide listings. Options such as alcohol, window tables or transfers raise those prices, so compare like for like.

What travelers should check

We could not find a review base for Orient Bosphorus on the big platforms, so there are no traveler themes to report. Before paying, ask for or check:

• The cancellation and weather policy, in writing. Direct dinner tickets can be strict: Turyol's own direct tickets, for example, are non-refundable with one date change.
• The boat's name and the exact landing in Karaköy.
• What "alcoholic drinks" covers on the Premium tier. On Bosphorus dinner boats "unlimited" usually means local drinks (rakı, beer, house wine, vodka, gin), not imported brands.
• Whether hotel transfer is included. The site does not say so for the tiers above.
• Table type. On most dinner boats the base price is a shared table.

Bring photo ID; dinner cruises usually ask for it. Tips are rarely included, so carry some lira in cash.

How to book and cancel

Book on the company's own website or through its contact channels. There is no reserve-now-pay-later and no platform customer service between you and the operator. If flexibility matters, for example because the weather is uncertain or your plans may change, a platform listing with free cancellation up to 24 hours before is the safer choice.
